Arizona Authors Association 1st Place : The Treasure of Sgt. Gutierrez Krystyna Rodriguez has published articles in the synidcated column "Hispanic Link" and earned commendation by the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. She has lectured on Mexican-Americans in WWII and the Mexican Revolution. Most recently Krystyna received 1st place in published fiction for her historical novel, "The Treasure of Sgt. Gutierrez". The novel springs from families on both sides of the Rio Grande, where bloodlines are stronger than borders. Two wars, two generations and multiple cultures intertwine in the southwest United States, Mexico and Europe as the book highlights the only exclusively Mexican-American company in WWII. A bilingual teacher, Krystyna has taught in Milwaukee, Madrid, Seattle, Mexico, and currently in Phoenix.
