The Lonely Loon - A Children's Story About Tolerance and Compassion
Growing up surrounded by his loving family, a young loon doesn’t realize he’s different until one day when he can’t find his way home. Shunned by other loons when he asks for directions, the lonely loon learns about being different the hard way. A story about tolerance, compassion and listening to your heart, The Lonely Loon teaches us to look beyond our differences so we can recognize all that we truly have in common. Inspired by her love for her special needs nephew, and the camp their families share in Maine, the author will donate proceeds from sales of The Lonely Loon to her nephew’s long-term care. Ms. Ottman is available to visit schools and libraries to share her story and speak on the importance of understanding differences.
